From up-and-coming neighborhoods to historic main streets, from DC to Dallas, we work with Business Improvement Districts and community-focused organizations dedicated to improving our neighborhoods for residents and visitors alike.

We care deeply about making neighborhoods better places to live, work, and play — with safer streets, thriving businesses, connected communities, and welcoming green spaces — and love to apply our creative expertise to support you in that work.

We're proud of our collaborations with groups that strengthen local communities through place-based investment, public space enhancement, and neighborhood advocacy.

In the following case studies, we showcase our partnerships with urban organizations in DC and beyond.

NoMa Business Improvement District

NoMa BID was ready for a refreshed brand to prepare the BID for the next era of the growing neighborhood. We’ve brought the reinvigorated brand to life on neighborhood streets and online — expanding the brand across the BID's flagship events, campaigns, environmental signage, and websites.

We also overhauled the BID’s online presence, with a new NoMaBID.org that makes it easy to find key information about area businesses and the BID's signature events, and an interactive home for their 2022-2026 Strategic Plan.

Georgetown Business Improvement District

Georgetown BID partnered with us on a comprehensive rebrand and website redesign to better position the iconic neighborhood as a thriving, multifaceted destination for recreation, dining, shopping, and business.

Collaboration was key to the project’s success; we engaged BID leadership, local business owners, and community members to ensure the positioning, visual design, and website architecture reflected the neighborhood's needs and goals.

We narrowed in on a creative concept that sets Georgetown’s recognizable architectural history on a modern backdrop: a story in every brick. We applied the new brand across digital ads and physical billboards, emails and notebooks, trash can labels and window decals.

We also built a web platform for Georgetown that showcases a new guides feature and is integrated with Salesforce, syncing data between Georgetown's internal member database and a public business directory.

The site acts as a digital visitor center, quickly proving a powerful resource for residents, tourists, and community leaders alike.

Bethesda Urban Partnership

Bethesda Urban Partnership needed a brand update to modernize their look and more clearly communicate their presence and impact. Our strategy work with the BUP team yielded a new tagline and a fresh identity: a cleaner, more inviting logo system and flexible visual elements that echo the vibrancy of the dynamic neighborhood.

Downtown Action Plan

Friendly joined forces with a team of local partners — including The Golden Triangle BID, Downtown DC BID, Federal City Council, and Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning & Economic Development — to design the brand, report, and microsite introducing the Downtown DC Action plan, which lays out a 5-year economic development strategy to reinvigorate Downtown DC.

Uptown Dallas Inc.

Beyond the DMV, we were happy to partner with Uptown Dallas to revamp their website, with a clean, concise digital home. A refreshed look with confident typography and bold colors bring contrast and new life to their logo, featuring the neighborhood's iconic historic trolley.

Friendly & You

Our work with neighborhood business improvement districts and local business organizations is rooted in a shared vision: supporting vibrant, connected communities where small businesses thrive, residents feel safe and inspired, and visitors feel welcome.

If you're seeking a creative partner to help celebrate and elevate the local identity of your organization, we'd be honored to work with you.
